Interface - Episode 19 - Entanglement

Description[]

The nineteenth episode of the Interface series was published by 'u m a m i' on March 12th, 2020. It follows Mischief and Henryk after the events of Episode 17. This episode is set in Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia, about an hour away from the setting of Episode 18 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Official Synopsis[]

Mischief and Henryk approach the lighthouse in search for clues on the whereabouts of Henryk's great grandaughter. Mischief may not be telling the whole story about his past and what he witnessed, but he knows Henryk will discover the answers on his own and bestows him the freedom of autonomy.

Summary[]

The episode begins with Henryk on a couch in a dark room inside the abandoned house. He produces a harmonica from his jacket and plays for a moment before going to bed on the couch. Mischief transforms into a blanket over him.

In the morning, the two walk along a beach past an abandoned boat. Mischief has shapeshifted into a massive writhing ball of tentacles, which he explains to Henryk is his "quantum entanglement" move.

Mischief queries Henryk about the goal of their visit to The Lighthouse and whether or not he and his great-granddaughter would recognize each other. Mischief states that even though Henryk's great-granddaughter could be on the other side of the world, Henryk would "know instantly when something is wrong". He also states that this feeling "wasn't felt by [Henryk] alone" before the shot cuts to The Ghost, Henryk's granddaughter, and Henryk's great-granddaughter standing in a kitchen.

Mischief reveals that he knows much more than he tells Henryk, but that he considers it more important for Henryk to discover this hidden knowledge on his own. The episode closes with a panning 3D shot of The Lighthouse as cerebral electricity flickers around the structure.
