Interface - Episode 06 - Bear Witness

Description

The sixth episode of the Interface series titled was published on May 1st, 2018 by 'u m a m i'. This episode continues from Interface Episode 05 and follows Henryk and Mischief in the Museum of Fine Arts in Montreal. It features the first appearance of Henryk's daughter, voiced by Christa Elliott. The voice of the museum staff is provided by Eve Sévigny.

Synopsis

The episode begins in the elevator leading to the higher levels of the museum. Henryk and Mischief emerge into a large room with a singular painting next to the elevator. An intercom/PA system announces that the museum will be closing shortly, casually interrupting Mischief throughout. They both inspect the painting, which is an interpretation of Salvador Dalí's 'Geopoliticus Child Watching the Birth of the New Man'. Mischief's questioning about what Henryk "left behind" induces flashbacks about his past. Notable memories include his former career as a photographer, his wife's funeral, and images of the ship's hull seen in Episode 01. Henryk's daughter speaks throughout the flashback, questioning his mortality. The episode ends with Henryk on the floor and Mischief visibly distressed.

Notes

Morse Code Message

At the beginning of the episode in the elevator there is a hidden Morse code sequence. This can be translated to "NIPS" which is a reference to a non-Interface animated short by 'u m a m i', Tinky Winky's Tubby Time.

Operation Tumbler-Snapper

It is believed, but not confirmed, that Henryk is the photographer responsible for taking pictures of the nuclear blasts generated in the "Tumbler-Snapper"[1] test series.
